Welcome to Umami World

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Umami World mobile

application ("App") developed by evergoods ("we," "us," or "our"). By

downloading, installing, or using our App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Description of Service

Umami World is a personal food diary application that allows you to:

Capture and organize photos of food and meals

Receive AI-generated cultural context and dish identification

Create a personal map of your culinary experiences

Build a private collection of food memories

Access cultural and historical information about dishes

2. Acceptance of Terms

By using Umami World, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree

to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not

use the App.

3. Privacy and Data Collection

Local Storage Only

Umami World stores all your data locally on your device

We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to our servers

Your photos, notes, and location data remain on your device

AI Processing

Dish identification and cultural context are generated using third-party AI

services

Photos are processed temporarily for identification purposes only

No photos or personal data are permanently stored by AI providers

All EXIF metadata is stripped from exported photos for your privacy

Device Permissions

The App requests the following permissions:

Camera: To capture photos of food and meals

Photo Library: To access and save photos

Location Services: To tag the location of your food memories (optional)

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

Use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes only

Not attempt to reverse engineer or modify the App

Not use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose

Respect intellectual property rights of others when sharing content

5. Content and Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain ownership of all photos and content you create in the App

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to photograph and store

any content

You may export and share your content at your discretion

Our Content

The App, including its design, features, and AI-generated cultural

information, is owned by evergoods

Cultural and historical information is provided for educational purposes

You may not reproduce or distribute our proprietary content without permission

6. AI-Generated Content

Cultural Information

AI-generated dish identifications and cultural context are provided for

educational purposes

Information may not always be 100% accurate

We encourage users to verify information from additional sources

Cultural descriptions are based on available training data and may not

represent all perspectives

No Warranties

AI-generated content is provided "as is" without warranties of accuracy or

completeness

We are not responsible for decisions made based on AI-generated information

7. Disclaimers and Limitations

No Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind,

either express or implied, including but not limited to:

Merchantability

Fitness for a particular purpose

Non-infringement

Accuracy of AI-generated content

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, evergoods shall not be liable for any

indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but

not limited to loss of data, loss of use, or loss of profits.

8. App Store Terms

Apple App Store

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge and agree

that:

These Terms are between you and evergoods, not Apple

Apple is not responsible for the App or its content

Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App

In case of App failure to conform to warranties, you may notify Apple for a

refund

Apple is not responsible for addressing claims related to the App

Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms

9. Updates and Changes

App Updates

We may update the App to improve functionality, security, or user experience

Updates may be required for continued use of the App

We are not obligated to provide updates but may do so at our discretion

Terms Updates

We may modify these Terms at any time

Significant changes will be communicated through the App or other reasonable

means

Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of new Terms

10. Termination

By You

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device.

By Us

We may terminate or suspend access to the App immediately, without prior notice,

if you breach these Terms.

Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Data stored

locally on your device will remain unless you delete the App.

11. Geographic Restrictions

The App is intended for global use but may not be available in all countries.

You are responsible for compliance with local laws and regulations.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of
